Why use Datapry
Your data stays on your device
Everything runs in your browser. The site's security policy stops pages sending your data elsewhere, and an automated test checks that nothing you paste leaves the page.
It won't quietly change your values
Long IDs stay exact, and so do values like 007. When a conversion can't keep something, such as nested data going into CSV, it tells you what changed.
Errors you can act on
See what's wrong in plain language, with the line and column. Select a problem to jump straight to it in the editor.
What you can do
API response to spreadsheet
Paste an array from an API, flatten the nested fields, and download a CSV that opens safely in Excel.
Find a value in a huge payload
Open a large response as a tree, search for a key, and go straight to it.
Move config between formats
Convert YAML to JSON for tooling and back again, with anchors and merge keys expanded.
Coming soon: visual data pipelines you can save and reuse, and a Data Explorer for filtering and querying datasets in your browser.
Questions
- Is Datapry really free?
- Yes. All the tools here work without an account, and processing happens on your own device, so they don't depend on our servers.
- How can I check that my data isn't uploaded?
- Open your browser's network tab and use any tool. You'll see the page load its code, but your input is never sent. You can even disconnect from the internet after loading and the tool keeps working.
- Is anything saved?
- Your input isn't saved unless you turn on "Save drafts", which keeps it in this browser only. Your tool settings are saved locally, and "Clear saved data" removes everything.
- How large can my files be?
- That depends on your device's memory. Large inputs switch to a manual Run button and a preview so your browser stays responsive, and very large files show a clear limit message.
